From the Ashes, A new Forest Rises

In August of 2020, the CZU Lightning Complex burned through the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, a landscape I have known since childhood. It was hard to witness a fire burn at that intensity and difficult in the aftermath to not recognize places I had come to know. But amid this raw landscape, a unique opportunity presented itself.
